Think Different!

I have been feeling really uninspired lately. Normally when this happens I spend time looking at people who inspire me, or looking up photography that I admire or even listening to a happy song. I found this video on a friends Facebook and it helped to motivate me. What kind of things do you do when you need inspiration?

Inferior Interior

I've been wanting to redecorate my room lately. Normally I go through this phase every six months or so. My main problem is I don't have the funds to transform it into the fabulous boudoir I have in mind :( I have been looking in a lot of charity shops and second hand shops and have actually found a few bits that I love. I want to go for the whole vintage look....love anything that looks like a New York style loft. My room however, has four very equal uninteresting looking walls and a window that instead of looking out onto a New York skyline, it looks out onto Mrs Murrays front garden who normal throws her leftover breakfast out into the grass to feed the birds (that rarely stop and eat her half sausage and leftover french toast) Here are some of the rooms that have inspired me throughout my research....

That Christmas Feeling!

Finally it's December! I've always felt there was something wrong with celebrating Christmas in November.I can stop ignoring that Christmas feeling now though. Winter woollies, giant lattes, Christmas decorations, SNOW!!! Here are some of the best things about this time of year...

Decorations, that make even the dullest of places seem fun and warm. I even especially love the tacky ones!

Winter woollies!

Having the fire lighting when you come in from the cold. Central heating is nice and handy for the toes first thing in the morning but there is nothing like a real fireplace!

Having both hands clutching a warm cup of of coffee or hot chocolate wherever I go :)

The Muppets! Ok this is a weird one but my Christmas begins and ends every year with watching the Muppet Christmas Carol. It's a childhood tradition that I have never gotten sick of! Try watching it if you've never seen it. If it doesn't get you in the mood for Christmas I'll be shocked!

Buying people presents! I love shopping for other peoples gifts. It's like a fun challenge trying to find them something different and perfect. I love wrapping them and writing cards and watching their reactions when I hand them over. I always get really awkward when people give me gifts, I get worried that I don't look grateful enough or feel guilty if they spent too much.

Christmas tunes EVERYWHERE! They drive some people mad, having them playing on repeat in all the shops and everywhere you go but I love it. It just wouldn't be the same without the cheesy tunes blasting over the speakers while people are rushing around. It's an almost ironic soundtrack to the stressful shoppers struggling to get their last minute gifts.

SNOW!!! I love everything about it. How it makes everything so beautiful, how it numbs the tips of your fingers and toes, everyone gets so excited as soon as it starts to fall! Where I live, snow in December is not always guaranteed but every year I wish for it over and over again...sometimes it works :)

Happy 1st of December!

Ol' Blue Eyes

From a very early age I have had an unhealthy obsession with Frank Sinatra. It's strange because I found him all by myself. What I mean is I didn't inherit my love for him from a family member or friend. I'm not even sure how I became a fan of the blue eyed crooner but if I was asked the good old 'If you could go back in time...' question then Frank would be top of the list! I think there's just something about his charm and class. Don't get me wrong, I am young and generally not that old fashioned in taste but there's just something about Frank....

Blogger Virgin!

Hello blogging world! Yes I am am new to this and not really sure what my plan for my blog is but like most things in my life I am hoping to figure it out along the way. I suppose my first post should be about who I am. I love reading blogs! There is something amazing about reading the things that others have to share and offer, even the simple things from another persons perspective can be so exciting to read! I love photography, I am studying it and could sit for hours looking at pictures of everything and anything. What I want for my blog is just a place to empty the things in my head and share the things that I love with others. Also...I ramble.....whether that's a good or bad thing for a blog I'm not sure yet...
